1. Renter must be at least 21 years of age.  NO SMOKING in city buildings.
2. Reservations may be made up to 12 months to the day in advance through the Chehalis Parks and Recreation office Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00 pm.
3. Reservations may be made by phone or in person, however in-person customers have priority if requests received at the same time. An applicant has 10 days after the date is requested to return the completed application along with required rental fee.  If completed application form and rental fee are not received on or before the tenth day, the reservation will be automatically cancelled and reopened to others.  If a reservation is made within the ten day period prior to the requested date, confirmation of the reservation will not be made until the application form and rental fee are received, and may be superseded by in-person application. *Cancellations received less than ten days before event will result in forgeiture of facility rental.
4. Renter must pick up the key (when using the VR Lee Community buiding and/or Fred Hess Kitchen in Recreation Park) at the Chehalis Parks and Recreation office during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, or by 5:00 om on the last business day before a weekend or holiday rental.
5. Covered Shelters are available to be reserved up to 12 months to the day in advance, but are only open for reservations from April through September.  Shelters are open to the public on a first come, first served basis, unless a reservation is made and rental fee paid.  If a shelter has been reserved, a reserved sign will be posted onsite.
6. Renter may access the building(s) no earlier than one half hour prior to the start of the rental time period. Covered shelters are available on the day of use at 8:00am - dusk. Upon entry if you find any facility or equipment problems, immediately notify the city's Parks and Facilities Division at local #360-508-6264 and enter a phone number for an employee to call you back.
7. Renter is responsible for cleaning up, locking doors, windows and dropping the key in the drop box inside the building(s)upon completion of the event or will be subject to charges.
8. Renter must vacate the building/shelter by the end of the rental time period or will be subject to charges noted on the Assumtion of Responsibility.
9. NO LIVE BANDS ALLOWED.  Groups planning to have music must keep exterior doors and all windows closed while music is playing.
10. Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages in City facilities is prohibited unless user has obtained liability insurance through Washignton Cities Insurance Authority (WCIA). Such application requires additional insurance fees and must be obtained via the internet through the Tennant User Liability Insurance Program (TULIP). Payment for this insurance is by credit cards only.  A banquet perimit is also required and may be purchased at any WA State Liquor Store.  The banquet permit must be posted onsite during the use.  All beverages must be dispensed in non-breakable containers.
11. The city cannot reserve park grass areas for organization or private use unless an 'Outdoor Special Event Application' is completed and approved.  Liability insruance is required for any outdoor and/or special event.  Chehalis parks are open to the public at all times, (unless closed seasonally) public has access to all special event designated areas in city parks.
12. No animals allowed (except service animals) in buildings without approval.  Leash law applies in all city parks.
13. No political banners or signs allowed on city property.  Banners and signs must be placed within 10 feet of the building or structure and not within any city rights-of-way.
14. Chehalis Parks and Recreation reserves the right to waive charges for use by local community non-profit organizations providing a 'Request to Waive Fee' form is completed and approved by the Director.
